Storage Reinvented.

I have this buffet in my dining room that I didn't really want but, it came with the set

we bought at antique store & they basically threw it in for free because they 

wanted to get rid of it. I didn't want it because it has a big hole under 

the middle drawer that is just wasted space. I felt I wanted to put

some kind of box under there to put storage in. Well finally

I figured it out. I got a new storage basket for my office/studio so I put the other 

storage box I had under the buffet. I put castors on the box so I could pull it out easily.

For the new basket, I cut a piece of plywood to fit under the base for stability 

& attached castors for easy moving. 

So now I have double the storage & it is easily accessed! : )

Old is new!

On Friday, the day of the big snow storm, I went through my jewellery box & got 

out all the stuff I haven't worn in years but, still like & couldn't get rid of.

I was inspired by some necklaces I liked in a shop & thought:

I have a lot of old jewellery that I could put together & make something.

 It would be sentimental for me & not break the bank.

Meet Judy!

I would like to introduce you to my little friend... Judy.
We met an at estate sale about a week ago. We hit it off
immediately & she came home with me!
What can I say? I was easy & she was cheap!

I have been wanting a dress form for a long time & started looking
in ernest a few months ago. There is not really anywhere
near me that has them. I tried at antique markets but they were so expensive!
Looked online but the shipping was astronomical!

Finally I looked at the online local classified ads on Kijiji & found this
one for sale only a short drive in the country away.

She is from 1957 & size 15. About a size 8 by today's standards.  : )

Snow Day!

Well we sure got dumped on! Why didn't we get this for Christmas?

Oh well, it sure makes everything look clean & bright!

I don't think the birdies were impressed with all the snow on the feeders!

Mocha loved it! It was pretty deep for him & he got tired after a while.

Here he is basking in the sun after all that hard work!

Looking out my window, I don't think I will be swinging for a while.

On the bright side, the sky was a beautiful blue & it was sunny. : )

New Pillows

Got new pillows for the sofa in the living room. 

They really go well with the rug & sofa colours.

Got the inserts & pillow covers from Pottery Barn, my new favourite store.

I am mad for plaid. Must be the Scottish in me.

Now that I have the pillows I really must tackle the drapes.  : )

Another Grad

Well My baby just turned 18. We just got his Grad photo.

 He will be off to University in the Fall. Where did the time go?

He wants to go into Medicine to be a neurosurgeon.....

or an actor.  : )

Happy New Year

Well I'm a little slow off the mark this year. We made it through the 

holidays unscathed but fell prey to some bug that was going around this season.

I was almost 2 weeks with a sinus cold & I finally broke down & got

some drugs to clear it up. Was starting to get a real sinus headache & anyone

who has ever had one knows they can be really painful.

Anyway, feeling much better & will try to get back on track for 2013!

Didn't really take that many pictures at Christmas this year.

Nape really liked his new sweatshirt.

Mocha enjoyed his new toy for a full 10 minutes 

before he broke the squeaker inside.  : )
