Well this is the last box of the season. : (
It was a great program & I will definitely do it again next year.
It feels right to support the local farmers & get good fresh produce in return, it
is a win/win situation. I got to try vegetables that I don't usually buy &
tried lots of new recipes too.
I live in a town just outside of a major city, that has grown and become a city
itself. Since we moved here 12 years ago, the population has tripled from 100,000
to over 300,000! There was a lot of farm land & slowly some of the farmers have sold their land to developers & retired from farming wealthy people.
I don't begrudge them their due but it is sad to see all this farm land turn into
sub-dividsions full of cookie cutter houses so close together they might as well
be attached to each other. I guess this is the price we pay for progress...
Looking forward to a new season next year. : )
